We are a community of women who are...1. Building a network to support women scientists in Switzerland through actively engaging local women from the private, corporate and philanthropic sectors
2. Creating a platform specifically for women scientists to showcase their research and work specifically on the latest developments in genetics from leading research in genetics, cancer research and biological advancements that impact humanity and our interaction with the world
3. Encouraging interactions and knowledge exchange between science and society through local educational initiatives for adults and children

About us
Since 2012, Women in Science SWITZERLAND (WiS) aims to bring the field of biological and scientific research into the lives of women in the community by engaging with women scientists in the region. It is at the centre of an initiative at the University of Lausanne to foster stronger relationships between members of the broader community and important research in genetics and biology, that impacts humanity.
The Annual Women in Science Lecture & Luncheon brings the field of genetic research into the lives of women in the region with a lecture by a leading, internationally renowned, female scientist. WiS part of the Impact Cancer Foundation, builds stronger relationships among members of the broader community and important research scientists whose discoveries impact humanity and the way we understand the world around us.
Through interactions fostered by the Annual WiS Lecture and Luncheon as well as other events co-supported by WiS, we bring together people from diverse expertise and interests among the corporate, private and public sectors to create one community that can benefit from current knowledge of the latest technology and breakthroughs in the field of genetics such as cancer research, biological innovations and other research. Women in Science creates a platform for scientific, corporate, philanthropic and other interested women to come together for stimulating dialogue and engagement.
All proceeds garnered through WiS events support community educational programmes specifically for children, public lectures, as well as grants for researchers in the field of genetics at UNIL, EPFL, CHUV and others.
